Our story
Righteous Side Of Hell was born from Patrick’s need to feel “useful” and like he was making a contribution to both his family and community.
After serving in the military, including a year long deployment immediately after his son was born, there was a dissonance between the ‘before’ and ‘after’ parts of Patrick.
Frustrated with not being able to explain how he felt or how to express himself, Patrick turned to music to help cope with the pain and stress. Specifically, he turned to musicians and bands like Five Finger Death Punch.
After hearing the acoustic version of “Wrong Side of Heaven,” Patrick was able to let his wife, Shelby, start to understand where he was. The lyrics from this 5FDP song resonates deeply, since he definitely feels like he is on the wrong side of heaven, but the righteous side of hell.
Since they both have a love of shooting and using different styles of weaponry; Patrick decided to enroll into the Sonoran Desert Institute to begin his associate of science in firearms technology degree, and is planning on getting his firearm technology handgun specialist certification directly after.
GIVING BACK
Starting with family and friends, the Wounded Warrior Project, programs through Veterans Affairs like Project Healing Waters, Creativets giving opportunities to learn and heal at the Chicago Arts Institute, and Guitars for Vets… We have been given so much love, help and support throughout the years.
When we first heard about the Til Valhalla Project, we immediately started to support knowing that it was a small way for us to give to those who gave all - and now we can give more.
We want to begin building nonfunctional firearms with personalized engravings to honor those that have fallen in the line of duty or combat. These memorial pieces would be custom built and placed in a custom designed shadow box; and then hand delivered by us.
We will do 12 a year - one a month - by request. There will be no monetary price for these; the ultimate price has already been paid.
HELPING OUT
“Got Your 6” Program
We also want to be able to help those that are having a hard time with their mental health issues. We will be looking into being able to hold an individual’s firearms and other weaponry at no cost in one of our safes.
This is something that we will be looking into with a lawyer, our local government and whatever other entities we may need to work with. Once this program is implemented, we will hold their weapons for as long as they need us to do so.
